There was an age when people had to depend on limited sources for earnings like jobs in the government or private sector and labor, where they had to work under the supervision of the authority, they were bound to time and work.  As time passed the sources of earnings increased into unlimited sources.

 Freelancing is an online job where you are free from outside authority and control. It is an online job where no one can show his authority over you and you are also not bound to reach your work at the exact time. Freelancing is a job but you are not employed.

Here you have to work online for your client but you are not bound with him. Here you will find your clients or sometimes your client finds you and you have to work until your client's satisfaction.

In simple words, we can say that freelancing is a blessing of the advancing age where the gap between colleges/Universities and academia highly increased and still increasing. 

When government and industries are unable to give jobs to all then there freelancing comes on the top. It would not be wrong to say that Freelancing is a blessing in this hard time of competition. Competition in every field of life like fashion, name, money, living style, bank balance, etc.

 To lead in this competition is not easy for a common man. Only landlords and high status could lead to this type of competition. It is freelancing that enables a common man of the day to lead in the competition of the 21st century. 

We see many highly educated unemployed people (males and females). Unemployment is a big curse of the present day. Every student studies hard with the thought of getting a good job in the future but after completing education when he goes to his practical life and starts searching for jobs here and there then he realizes that his hard work and his education are useless for him.

 We see many cases of suicides and the main reason for those suicides is unemployment. With the advancement of time and needs of the day, the rate of suicide due to joblessness would increase but freelancing here comes as a blessing. It gave a better chance to everyone to earn a handsome amount to live a happy and successful life.

 Now with freelancing, every individual can leave a successful and respectable life. Unemployment and joblessness is the  evil of a society and this evil is destroying the life and career of the youth of the day.

There are two types of freelancing

  • Traditional
  • Non-traditional 

Traditional freelancing.

Traditional freelancing is a type of freelancing in which a client posts his projects and demands and a freelancer Bid for it. If a freelancer achieves that project he will get that project and he has to complete it in the client's given time, in return he will be paid by the client, and for the next project freelancer has to bid again. In this way, a freelancer makes his earnings and a client gets his work done by an expert.  

The best example of Traditional freelancing is Upwork.com .In Upwork different clients come to post their projects and different freelancers visit this in search of their category’s work and they bid there.

Non-traditional freelancing.

Nontraditional freelancing means that here client does not post any project of his demand but rather a freelancer offers his services to different clients by making their gigs, here the client visits many gigs and finds the freelancer to give his project.

In Fiverr, freelancers create their gigs where different clients visit and talk to different freelancers and then hire according to their needs and demands.

A freelancer is a self-employed person. He works online. He gives his services to different clients and in return, gets his payment.

 In freelancing, you are your boss.

 For an online job, the freelancer has to tell, the time to the client to submit his project. A freelancer is not bound to work from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm like a regular job.  He gets the project from the client and tells the time to submit it and then he submits it at the exact time after that he is free to enjoy his life.

 Now anyone with any skill can come to this field. A man can earn 10 to 50 percent more than government jobs and one thing which makes freelancing more attractive than a regular job is the freedom to work. Here freedom to work means a freelancer is free from all outside control. A freelancer's life is more independent than a regular worker in the government or private sector. The life of a freelancer goes around his laptop or computer his bed and washroom but it does not mean that he cannot enjoy his life. He can enjoy it even more than others. Where ever he goes he just needs his laptop or mobile phone and a good data connection with him that's all. He can do and continue his work anywhere and anytime according to his wish and needs.
